CALL FOR ENTRIES: Calling all Georgia progressive filmmakers!


Here's a message from our friends at the Cause + Effect Film Competition:

Georgia Filmmakers!

Cause + Effect Film Competition 2015, a new Georgia progressive film competition hosted by the Alliance for a Better Georgia, is accepting entries.

Until October 11, 2015, Georgia filmmakers of all ages and experience levels are invited to visit to submit their short films on a social, political, economic or environmental issues facing Georgia.

The winning filmmaker will be awarded a $1,000 grand prize, and cash prizes will be awarded to the second and third-place filmmakers.

The 2-15 minute films can focus on any issue the filmmaker chooses, as long as it provides potential solutions or a call-to-action that addresses the issue. Suggested issues include homelessness, LGBT equality, voting rights, education funding, public transportation, student loan debt, climate change, immigration reform and Medicaid expansion.

The competition is open to all Georgia filmmakers and all semi-finalist films will screen at a mini-festival in November at Cine theater in Athens, Ga.
