New Beginnings at Ciné!

We got a very interesting email from Ciné - check it out below!!

Dear Friend of Ciné,

2011 has been an important transitional year at Ciné. Beginning January 1, 2012, Athens Film Arts Institute (AFAI), a local non-profit 501(c)3 organization, will assume operations at Ciné. AFAI has been working to expand membership and corporate donors. Evidence of these efforts is the generous support of Prestige Parking allowing Ciné Level 2 members and Full Monties to pay only $1 for parking after 6 pm. This is a great beginning!

Ciné is more than a movie theater; it is a community resource. It is a place to gather, learn about film, participate in lively discussions and events, see an exhibit, or just relax with a drink before enjoying the restaurants and music of downtown Athens.

AFAI's tax-exempt status allows supporters to make tax-deductible contributions to ensure the viability of Athens' premier independent cinema.  As the year draws to a close, we hope you will consider making a contribution to AFAI to help us with our transition.

It takes a village to support an art house movie theater.  We hope that in 2011, Ciné has been a part of your special Athens memories. Please help us keep Ciné your 2012 downtown destination of choice by making your tax deductible donation now at athenscine.com.  Or write a check to AFAI, 234 West Hancock Ave., Athens, GA  30601.

Hope to see you at the movies over the holidays!

Sincerely,

Members of the Board,
Athens Film Arts Institute
