Young aspiring filmmakers, Camp Flix is coming to Atlanta!
Camp Flix allows aspiring filmmakers, ages 11-17, to engage in the craft of filmmaking. Campers will learn everything from creating a pitch to distributing their projects. The camp is July 16-20 at Emory University, and July 23-27 at Olgethorpe University.
Camp Jam, the nation’s largest provider of rock music camps and educational rock and roll music programs for kids and adults, announced today the addition to its summer camp series, Camp Flix, Atlanta's premier movie camp. Camp Flix will offer kids ages 11 to 17 a one week, real-world experience immersed in the craft of filmmaking. The summer program offers overnight and day camp options, and introduces campers to the techniques, language and process of filmmaking and acting.
“From the idea pitch to the final cut, campers will get hands-on instruction in the crafts of filmmaking and acting taught by industry professionals,” said Tom Karsch, CEO of Camp Flix and partner at Camp Jam. “Technology has made filmmaking more accessible and affordable and we are seeing younger and younger kids getting into filmmaking. Camp Flix will tap into that passion and provide the skills to make them more polished digital filmmakers. It’s a very comprehensive program, and an incredibly fun experience.”
